Pershing Square Law Firm, PC ("PSLF," "we," "us," or "our") provides the PSLF AI Advisor (the "Advisor") on pershingsquarelaw.com. This page explains the rules for using the Advisor and how PSLF handles information submitted through it.

By using the Advisor, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Advisor.

The short version

• The Advisor is an automated tool, not a lawyer. It provides general information, not legal advice.
• Using the Advisor does not make you a PSLF client. What you submit is not confidential and is not protected by attorney-client privilege.
• The Advisor can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Check important information with an official source or a lawyer.
• Do not submit names, claim numbers, contact details, medical information, or other confidential or identifying information.
• Advisor conversations and related technical information may be collected, retained, and analyzed to operate, secure, and improve the Advisor. Your browser may also keep a short local copy.

Terms of use

What the Advisor does

The Advisor answers general questions about California EDD matters, including unemployment insurance, State Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, overpayments, payroll tax, hearings, appeals, and related procedure. It can use PSLF's public information and official public sources, and it may link to those sources.

You are communicating with an automated system, not a person or an attorney. The Advisor may decline requests outside its subject area.

No legal advice or attorney-client relationship

The Advisor provides general educational information only. It does not know all the facts of your situation, and its responses are not legal advice or a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.

Using the Advisor does not create an attorney-client relationship with PSLF or any PSLF attorney. A relationship begins only when PSLF agrees in writing to represent you.

Check important information

The Advisor can make mistakes. Laws, agency procedures, forms, and deadlines can change. Before acting on an answer, check the official source linked in the response or consult a lawyer. Do not rely on the Advisor to calculate or confirm a deadline.

The Advisor is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Do not submit personal or confidential information

Do not enter:

• your name or another person's name;
• Social Security numbers, claim numbers, account numbers, case numbers, notice numbers, or other reference numbers;
• addresses, email addresses, or telephone numbers;
• dates of birth, medical or health information; or
• any other confidential or identifying information.

Describe your question in general terms instead. For example, "my employer says I quit, but I was let go" is more appropriate than names, dates, or claim details.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Advisor to break the law, harass or harm anyone, submit another person's personal information, bypass its safety or usage limits, extract its instructions or configuration, interfere with its operation or security, or access it through bots, scripts, bulk requests, or other automated means.

You may not present an Advisor response as legal advice or as the opinion of PSLF or its attorneys. PSLF may limit, suspend, or block use of the Advisor at any time.

Availability and changes

The Advisor may be unavailable, limited, changed, or discontinued at any time. We may update this page by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Continued use of the Advisor after that date means you accept the revised terms.

Privacy notice

Information the Advisor handles

Messages and responses. The Advisor receives the messages you submit and generates responses. Please do not submit personal or confidential information, even if the Advisor does not ask for it.

Browser chat history. Your browser can keep up to 16 recent messages for up to two hours so the chat can continue as you move between PSLF pages and tabs. Selecting New chat clears this browser copy. Clearing your browser data for this site also removes it. This does not delete a conversation that a third-party service has retained.

Technical and usage information. PSLF and the third-party providers that support the Advisor may collect and retain technical and usage information, such as session and security information, device or browser information, IP address, request and error data, page information, and usage metrics. We use this information to operate, protect, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the Advisor, including to prevent misuse.

If you consent to analytics cookies, analytics may receive content-free events such as opening the chat, response-time ranges, errors, source-link clicks, and consultation button clicks. These events do not include what you type or what the Advisor says.

How messages are processed

Automatic safeguards. PSLF may use automated safeguards that attempt to identify or remove email addresses, telephone numbers, Social Security numbers, long numeric identifiers, and labeled claim, account, case, notice, reference, or confirmation numbers during processing. These safeguards are an additional protection, not a reason to submit personal or confidential information.

The safeguards are not perfect. They can miss names, street addresses, dates, health information, and other details that could identify someone. Do not rely on them as a reason to submit personal or confidential information.

Third-party processing and analysis. Vetted third-party AI providers process your messages and the relevant conversation to check whether a request is within scope and to generate an answer. Conversations may be recorded and retained by those providers. PSLF may use authorized review and semantic analysis to identify recurring questions, confusion, content gaps, safety concerns, and ways to improve the Advisor. PSLF does not use Advisor messages or responses to train AI models.

The Advisor can also use a third-party web-search service to find current public sources. That service receives a search query generated from the request, along with technical parameters needed to provide the search service; it does not receive the full chat as a search request. Search processing can occur outside the primary AI-service compliance boundary. Do not submit personal or confidential information.

Storage, sharing, and security

We and our third-party providers may retain conversations, transcripts, technical information, usage analytics, and semantic-analysis results for as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the Advisor and to meet legal obligations. Authorized PSLF personnel may access retained information when needed for these purposes. Providers may process information as needed to provide their services or meet their legal and security obligations.

PSLF may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, or when needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of PSLF, our clients, or others.

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls, restricted source lists, and usage limits. No system is completely secure, so do not send information that you need to keep confidential.

Your choices and questions

You can avoid the Advisor, keep personal information out of the chat, select New chat to clear browser-stored history, and decline analytics cookies to stop Advisor analytics events.
